About this tool
Scanned documents and phone photos are where most PDF bloat comes from. Strong compression redraws each page as a 120 dpi image, which often cuts the size by 70 to 90 percent while staying easy to read on screen and in print. Smallest goes to 90 dpi for strict limits.
Light compression only restructures the file, so text stays selectable; it helps most on files that came out of other tools inefficiently.
Questions
Will my PDF look worse?
Light: no change. Strong: barely noticeable for reading. Smallest: fine on screen, a bit soft if you zoom in.
Can I still search the text afterwards?
With Light, yes. Strong and Smallest turn pages into images, so the text can’t be selected or searched.
How small does it need to be for email?
Gmail allows attachments up to 25 MB. Many upload forms ask for 2 to 10 MB.
