About this tool
PDFs aren’t built to be edited like a Word file, so EditMyDocument does what a careful person with a printer would do: it covers the old words with a white box that matches the page and puts your new text in the same spot, in a matching size and a close font. For most forms, letters and receipts the result is indistinguishable from the original.
You can also add brand-new text anywhere, draw, highlight, add a logo or photo, rotate and reorder pages, or delete pages you don’t need. Every change can be undone until you save.
Questions
Can I change the font to exactly match?
EditMyDocument picks the closest standard font (Helvetica, Times or Courier) and matches the size. Most documents use one of these or a close cousin, so the change is hard to spot.
Is the old text really gone?
Not when you use Edit text or White-out: the original words are hidden, not deleted. If the old text is private, use the Redact tool instead, which removes it for good.
Why can’t I select text on my PDF?
It’s probably a scan, which is a picture of a page. You can still cover parts with White-out and type new text on top.
