About this tool

The file is encrypted with AES-256, the strongest encryption the PDF standard offers, and opens in Adobe Reader, Preview, Chrome, Edge and other modern viewers. Without the password the contents can’t be read.

Permissions (no printing, no copying) are honored by well-behaved PDF apps but are easier to get around than the open password, so rely on the password itself for real protection.

Questions

What if I forget the password?

It can’t be recovered, by you or by us, because we never see it. Keep an unprotected copy somewhere safe.

How strong should the password be?

At least 10 characters mixing words and numbers. Avoid names and dates.
