About this tool

The signature pad opens as soon as your file loads. Sign in black or blue ink, then drag the signature onto the line and use the corner dot to resize it. You can add it to as many pages as you need.

In the United States the federal ESIGN Act generally treats electronic signatures as valid when you intend to sign. Some documents, such as wills and certain court and family-law papers, still need a traditional signature, and some organizations have their own rules. When it matters, check with whoever asked you to sign.

Questions

Is a drawn signature legally binding?

In the US, an electronic signature you adopt with the intent to sign is generally valid under the ESIGN Act and state UETA laws. EditMyDocument doesn’t verify anyone’s identity. You can attach a signing record (date, time and a fingerprint of the file), but for high-stakes contracts the other party may prefer a dedicated e-signature service. Some documents, such as wills and certain court or notarized papers, can’t be signed electronically.

Can I sign on my phone?

Yes. Open the PDF from your Files app, sign with your finger, and save the signed copy back to your phone.

Is my signature stored anywhere?

No. It exists only in your browser tab while you work and is gone when you close it.
